Mulaqat with MeErAA….@ HUM TV
Mulaqatis a an ok effort with good cast including across border fame Meera Ji,Part she got is suited her well… kind of little hot for our TV screens at times… It is just me or every one who watches Classic movie Pakeeza, will notice how ” Meena kumari “and our “Meera ji” resemble in their dialogue delivery … God knows if this resemblance is just a coincidence or … but have style we accept!
Adnan Siddiqui is a natural no matter what role he gets to play … we still remember him as a complexed husband he played in drama” Zaib un Nisa”.
Script and poetry is great By Zafar Mairaj… title song ” taira mujh sey kia rishta hey”sun by Zara And Wiqar… is beautiful!
Zaiba Bakhtiar looks beautiful ..she is also part of behind the scene efforts for this Play ,which is good too.
Aisha khan is not playing herself that is a good change for her viewers.
I will not accept–’main nahi maanta’-Habib Jalib

Dawn
Chaos is reigning the airwaves. What makes it worse is that our televisions are streaming the reality outside our doors–every minute of every day.
During such a time the words and rhythms by the late poet Habib Jalib work to restore the spirit.
The spirit to call the increasingly unsettling socio-poli-religious scenario for what it is–just a speed bump on the path to Pakistan’s bright future.
I have been listening to Habib Jalib’s recitation of ‘Dastoor’ on repeat for a while now.
Deep jis ka mehlaat hee mein jaley
(A lamp only in palaces lit)
Chand logon kee khushion ko lay kar chaley
(Shed light for a chosen few)
Voh jo savay mein har muslihat kay chaley
(Shade in which one has to fit)
Aisey dastoor ko, subha-e-beynoor ko
(Such rites and lightless dawns)
Main nahin maanta, main nahin jaanta
( I will not accept: I refuse to know.)Source: Ovais Khan’s Diary
Ignoring the politics in the oh-so-political times, I believe Shahbaz Sharif’s rendition of Jalib’s ‘Dastoor’ is quite interesting.
